been reading this site for awhile now.

i have had a long and often tragic life as a jw.

my story is so long because i'm pretty old :) i feel sad i've been locked in fear and guilt for my entire life.

I have been following this thread since you started it. As you can see from the response so far, that many of us have a story similar to yours. This is therapy for all of us, being honest in our feelings, our experiences, our fears etc. And to be able to discuss various subjects without fear of reprisals, is refreshing and empowering to us to break free of the guilt that the Organization places on us for just seeking answers, that they don't want us to have or will admit that they were in error, as well as ruined the futures of many us who "will never grow old", see their dead love ones soon, pioneering is the best retirement,etc."

If they just admitted their own errors, and not come up with more confusing doctrines such as "Overlapping Generations " to cover their Asses, then blame the Rank and File for having "unfulfilled expectations "(who gave us these expectations?), many of us may have never begun this journey us "seeking the real truth".

Life is changing for me: no pioneering, got a job!

a month ago i decided to register in this board.

i had decided to step down pioneering but was frightened about the consequences.

i had finished my university degree some months before (despite disaproval from brothers in my congregation) and i had to choose: continue pioneering and working in jobs with no future or starting a career, working full-time.. i was thinking to postpone the decisiton but... i was fed up with preaching.

My guess is The ones telling you to Pioneer, are not Pioneering themselves right now!

after much research and prayer i am returning to being a jehovah's witness i can find nothing that eliminates them from being god's directed people , in the end they will reach the end of there journey despite mistakes and errors just like the israelites entered the promised land , thanks for your input and all the best on your personal journey ☺.

You must be under 40. After many dedicated years and the continual letdowns, false hopes, you will realize that everything just doesn't add up! Try pioneering for 24 years, believing the End could be any day now and then it is time to retire and you have no benefits because you were told meeting after meeting you don't have to worry about it. Now you are in your 60's, working full time, living in a government housing unit, dependent on government health care, needing food stamps, etc. Because you believed everything that was told you and put into print. I challenge you to talk to a long time Witness and ask them how long have they been waiting for Armageddon.

it was a mix of farmers and city folks.

there were three to four families there who had moved in from other states, to help out.

6 New Kingdom Halls Built In The US This Year

on our local needs part tonight, the elder (on the local ldc), conducting the part, said he just got back from a meeting in memphis tn with members from the us branch rdc conducting the meeting.

they mentioned that only 6 new kingdom halls and 2 major re-models were completed in 2016.

"it may seem like a small accomplishment, considering under the old rbc arrangement there was some 700 projects on the average each year being done", "but, this is going 5-10 years of training to kick this new program into optima production".

I asked the Brother after the specifically, "6 for our Region or only 6 built here in the States." His reply:" 6 in the States".

I will ask him again tomorrow, in case I wasn't clear enough in my question.

At the meeting, The one conducting also said that "Halls that are less than 25 miles from each other only having 1 or 2 assigned, will be closely looked at as to whether they could be reassigned to another hall, and the Kingdom Hall sold off. That way dedicated funds are better utilized."

Yes, I read your earlier post. But this Brother was throwing around these low number of accomplishments, and I was taken a back. Such a major difference from the RBC days where there was at least a building project per month just for our RBC and there were some 100 different RBC's throughout the U.S.

They mentioned that only 6 New Kingdom Halls and 2 Major Re-Models were completed in 2016. "It may seem like a small accomplishment, considering under the Old RBC arrangement there was some 700 projects on the average each year being done", "but, this is going 5-10 years of training to kick this new program into optima production". Then he added, "We have applications on hand if you want to be a part of this new arrangement that Jehovah's Organization has put into place".

I'm thinking, boy, they must be building up a large cash reserve.

Pioneer Elder Still in Jail (follow up report)

confirmed by a family friend and elder who lives in the area!

he was a pioneer elder in a port st lucie (river view congregation) fl, convention and assembly speaker, a"shining star" of the circuit and had served at bethel for several years.

was sexually abusing his step daughter from age 8 to 12. his wife has divorced him and moved back to tennessee.
